Prominent Labor Rights Lawyer, Senior Advocate K Subba Rao passed away at his residence in Bengaluru on Friday morning.

Born on June 15, 1931, he was a specialist in the labor and service sectors. A committed advocate of workers' rights, he fought for the rights and lives of millions of workers both inside and outside the court.

During his lifetime, he served as the President of various Labour Unions, i.e. the Indian Coffee Workers Co-operative Union, Mysore Commercial Employees Union, Binny Mill Workers Union, and West Coast Paper Mills Association. Mr. Rao also represented workers in large public enterprises like HMT, BEL, and HAL.

 His other known accomplishments mark strong opposition to the Emergency in 1975, representing India at the International Law Conference held in New York in 1986.
