Index of Industrial Production increases 7.1 percent for November 2022, highest in five months

 

 

 The Index of Industrial Production (IIP) rose 7.1 percent for November 2022 which is the highest in five months. According to the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation data released today, IIP logged positive growth after contracting by four percent in the preceding month. IIP grew by one percent in the same period in 2021.

In November, The manufacturing sector saw a growth of 6.1 percent while the mining sector climbed 9.7 percent. The electricity sector surged 12.7 percent.

Overall industrial production so far (from April to November) this fiscal has been 5.5 percent whereas growth of 17.6 percent was seen in the corresponding period of the previous year.
