Court acquits 32 Accused of Rioting, Attempt to Murder

 A Sessions Court in Jabalpur acquitted 32 Persons accused of rioting, attempt to murder, & obstructing policemen from discharge of their duties by use of force & illegal possession of arms.

The case was registered against these persons following violence between the 2 groups neat the Bharatipura community hall under Omati police station. The FIR against them was lodged by 3 policemen, who had gone to control the mob.

The rioters were charged under the Indian Penal Code sections 148, 353, 149, 332 & 307 & section 3 & 5 of the Arms Act. The complainants were SI Manjeet Singh, ASI Sanjeev Tripathi & constable Pramod Pandey. The Court of Sessions Judge Rajesh Nandeshwar,, held that the prosecution had failed to prove beyond doubt the involvement of the accused in rioting & acquitted all of them.
