Lawyer seeks action against China on COVID, gets Supreme Court rap

  

On Monday, the Apex Court dismissed a petition of an Advocate seeking its intervention to direct the Centre to take action against China for allegedly using Covid-19 as a biological weapon & intentionally spreading it across the world.

A bench of Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul and Justice M M Sundresh slammed the lawyer, who appeared in person before the Court, for filing such a plea & said that the purpose of his plea was to get his name published in newspaper & hoped that media would not oblige him

The petitioner insisted that many international studies blamed China for the Covid-19 infection & his case was not baseless but based on those findings. However, the bench said that it was not for the Court to get into such matters & it was for the elected government to take any action if it needed to be taken.
