On 25th July, a bench of Himachal Pradesh High Court consisting of Acting Chief Justice Ravi Malimath and Justice Jyotsna Rewal Dua sought for response from the state to place on record the facilities available in the State with regard to ambulances, hospital facilities including mental health hospitals and matters of the like nature. The court also directed the state to continue uploading all the Covid related activities which may include the number of vaccines given, number of vaccines to be given, number of deaths etc. on the relevant website of the State.
Submission of the counsel:
The learned Senior Additional Advocate General submitted that the State is making every effort to prevent the spread of Covid-19. He had also brought to the notice of the court the various measures taken by the State in this regard.
Further, the learned Assistant Solicitor General of India has also brought to the notice of the court that a proposal has been made to the Union of India for grants of Rs. 240 crores relatable to the Covid-19 pandemic. He assured the court that follow up action will be taken in that regard.
Order of the court:
The Hon’ble bench of the court on hearing the submissions made before it by the learned Senior Additional Advocate General and Assistant Solicitor General of India directed the learned Senior Additional Advocate General to place on record, before the next date of hearing, the facilities available in the State with regard to ambulances, hospitals, including the mental health hospitals and matters of the like nature, which shall also include facilities that have been earmarked for children, namely, pediatrics.
The court further directed the state to continue uploading on the relevant website all the Covid related activities which may include the number of vaccines given, number of vaccines to be given, number of deaths etc.
