Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar has appealed to the farmers that the new Farm Reform Acts which have been brought are in the interest of farmers. He said they have been brought after a long wait. Talking to reporters in New Delhi today, Mr Tomar said, if farmers have any objection to these Acts then the government is fully ready to discuss with them to address their concerns. Mr Tomar said, they should not resort to the way of protest as it affects the citizens.
The fourth round of talks between the government and farmers' representative will be held tomorrow. Agriculture Minister, Narendra Singh Tomar, Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal and Minister of State for Commerce Som Prakash met the representatives of Farmers' Organizations from Punjab in New Delhi Yesterday to discuss the issues concerning them. During this meeting, Mr Tomar emphasized that the Government is fully committed towards the welfare of farmers and agriculture development is always on the top priority for Government of India.
