The tiger wandering in the district for a month was rescued and sent to Sanjay Tiger Reserve.

The tiger roaming near human settlements in Katni district under the leadership of area director Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve, Mr. Vincent Rahim, was resuscitated yesterday and sent to Sanjay Tiger Reserve. This tiger, which is about two and a half years old, is perfectly healthy. It will be kept in the enclosure in Sanjay Tiger Reserve. After studying its behavior, further decision will be taken on the advice of experts. It is noteworthy that one of the 4 offspring of 1 female tiger in Jhiriya Ropani, Katni, fell and was injured in a well in 2018, which was rescued and taken to Mukundpur. Out of the remaining 3 cubs, the adult male tiger separated from its mother and roamed in search of a new territory. In this sequence, it reached Saraswahi 12 km from Katni. Accidentally it killed a rural woman and injured 2 persons. After this, it was seen mostly around human settlements. Due to the possibilities of human tiger duel, it was decided to rescue it. A densest search for the tiger continued from morning on March 7. The tiger was found at 4.15 pm in the presence of Area Director Bandhavgarh Mr. Vincent Rahim and promptly inaugurated the tiger by visiting the elephant with Dr. Himanshu, veterinarian of Wildlife Conservation Trust by Assistant Wildlife Doctor Dr. Abhay Sengar in charge. The tiger was loaded into the rescue cage by the F's team. The entire proceedings were completed in one and a half hours with systematic and professional efficiency. The tiger was sent to Sanjay Tiger Reserve. In the proceedings of the rescue, Area Director Bandhavgarh Vincent Rahim, Additional Deputy Director Siddharth Gupta, Forest Board Officer Katni Rajesh Rai, Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve Assistant Director Mr. Anil Shukla, Ankit Pandey, Katni Sub Divisional Officer Mr. Baghel, Zone Officer Dhamokhar Vijay Shrivastava, Circle Officer Shaile Tiwari, Mr. Bajwa, Veterinarians Vinay Pandey and Bandhavgarh Tiger Re The employees of Jarv and Katni forest division attended.
