Education Department Review Meeting
Katni (5 December) — Chief Executive Officer of District Panchayat Jagdish Chandra Gome has given instructions to improve the quality of education and annual results of the students according to better resources available in schools. On Thursday, CEO Zilla Panchayat held a meeting of officials of the Department of Education in the Collectorate meeting and reviewed the departmental activities. District Education Officer BB Dubey along with APC, BEO, BRC were also present on the occasion.
Chief Executive Officer Shri Gomme said that the state government has provided better resources including education in infrastructure, upgrading of teaching and learning activities in the field of education. Ensure better use of these resources and bring the expected improvement in the quality of reading activities and education. He said that proper effective implementation of bridge course classes and remedial classes should be done. Reviewing the quarterly results of 28 schools in the district included in Mission 1000, the CEO has instructed to analyze the student-wise results of 16 schools with less than 50 percent results and submit the report.
CEO Zilla Panchayat said that the results of the subjects taught by the teachers of 16 schools with less than 50 percent result should be analyzed. A departmental inquiry will also be organized against these teachers. He instructed to hold a separate review meeting of the principals of all 28 schools. The CEO said that the examination results of these schools will be linked to the salary withdrawal of teachers. Salary will be withheld if expected results are not received.
District Education Officer BB Dubey informed that an amount of Rs.15 lakh 90 thousand has been provided to 159 schools in the district under the Ozone Youth Club. Under the Shala Darpan program, 86 inspecting officers have conducted 1325 inspections against 1720 inspection targets so far. On inspecting less than the target by the CEO, the CEO instructed to present the tour program of all the officers. CEO Zilla Panchayat asked BEO Barwara, Principal and in-charge of Shala Bhajia, the definition and meaning of Shala Darpan. The CEO instructed to stop an increment when the BYO did not explain the meaning of school mirror.
Due to shortage of teachers in the schools, the CEO said that many retired teachers and officers of the Education Department are willing to provide free educational services in schools, they can also be given opportunities and avail their services.
CEO District Panchayat Shri Gomme also reviewed the approved works of Smart Class and Education Department for the years 2017–18 and 2018–19. During this time 52 out of 81 sanctioned works have been completed. While 29 construction works are in progress. Of these, 17 works are almost on completion. The CEO called a separate review meeting related to construction works on December 20 and directed to complete the work as soon as possible.
In the review meeting, District Manager E-Governance Saurabh Namdev resolved the difficulties faced by officials in the implementation of meaningful app for monitoring attendance. In Sarthak app, all the officers were instructed to register attendance by creating user names, IDs.
Will make a good officer-employee “face of the week”
In order to encourage sincere good works to be done by government servants, the district administration will start face innovation of the week.
In the review meeting of the Education Department, CEO Zilla Panchayat Jagdish Chandra Gomme told that many officers, employees in various departments do well with full loyalty and dedicated spirit. In order to encourage the performance of these employees and to motivate other employees, the works of field employees of the departments related to education, women and child development, health, revenue, panchayat and rural development will be selected after assessing the work of field employees. By selecting weekly, a photo of that employee and a detailed description of the work done will be displayed in the Flexi chart at the collector’s office or visible place for a week.
