Raja Garden, New Delhi: In a sting operation, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has apprehended a Malaria Inspector and an ex-contractual employee of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) for allegedly demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs. 10,000.

The action stemmed from a complaint against the ex-employee, who reportedly threatened the complainant with a fictitious case filed at the National Green Tribunal (NGT) and demanded money to quash it.

After laying a trap, the CBI caught the ex-employee red-handed while accepting the bribe. During interrogation, he revealed acting on behalf of the Malaria Inspector. Subsequent proceedings led to the Inspector's arrest as well.

Searches are currently underway at the residences of both accused, and the investigation is ongoing.
