The Delhi High Court has asked the Delhi Police and Bar Associations to jointly address the security concerns in the district courts in the national capital and suggest measures against the same.
The Division Bench of Chief Justice Satish Chandra Sharma and Justice Subramonium Prasad taking note of the recent shooting in the Saket Court where a debarred Lawyer shot a woman in an alleged fraud dispute directed the senior officials of the Delhi Police and members of the Bar Association to convene a meeting within two weeks.
The Court was following proceedings in a bunch of petitions including suo-moto case initiated in 2021 following the gun-firing incident at Rohini Courts.
Delhi Government's Standing Counsel apprised the Bench that Delhi Police is cooperating and doing a commendable job by installing more CCTV cameras and tightening the security around courts.
