The Single Judge Bench of the Bombay High Court, comprising Justice Amit Borkar in the case of Deepak Virendra Kochhar v. Directorate of Enforcement & Anr has observed that lawyers and counsel who appear for parties from outside of its territorial jurisdiction will not be given any special consideration and their absence will not be a ground for adjournment.
The Bench was of the opinion that the court will not grant special status or consideration to lawyers simply because they are from outside its jurisdiction. Additionally, it makes clear that lawyers' absence on the next date or any subsequent date will not be a ground for adjournment based solely on the fact that they are from outside the court's territorial jurisdiction.
The Court listed the matter on 9th June 2023 for next hearing.
