The Chief Justice of India, DY Chandrachud has inaugurated virtual High Courts in 10 different districts of Orissa.
In his address, the CJI stated that Orissa will be the only State to have vritual high court in every district
"Orissa is going to be the first state which will be having a High Court in every district. By March 2023, Orissa would be the first State to boast of a High Court which is going to be in every district. Most residents will not have to travel even hours away from their home to reach the High Courts. Lawyers from any part of the State would be benefitted," CJI Chandrachud said.
Chief Justice of the Orissa High Court S Murlidhar has called it 'historic' that Orissa will be the first State to record this feat.
"A truly historic moment for Orissa and for the State judiciary. This would mean that the High Court would not just metaphorically but would actually make its presence felt in all the districts in the State," CJ Muralidhar said.
He added that Virtual Courts shall be equipped with staff that will assist Advocates.
"Virtual courts will have trained personnel and staff, who will help an advocate to file case, get it numbered, list it and even mention it. Earlier an advocate had to travel all the way to Cuttack to do all this but now they will do it from their own districts," the CJ said.
Social media is young.
Social media raises questions.
Social media is not satisfied with an answer.
Social media looks at the big picture.
Social media is interested in every detail.
social media is curious.
Social media is free.
Social media is irreplaceable.
But never irrelevant.
Social media is you.
