Supreme Court confirms life imprisonment on the person accused of killing his two sons

 In the Prem Singh vs State of NCT Delhi case, an appeal was directed against the judgment passed by the High Court where the appeal was dismissed against the order of sentence and judgment of conviction passed by the Trial Court. The Trial Court stated that the appellant was found guilty of killing his own sons aged 9 and 6 years by first strangulating them and then throwing them into the canal. The appellant was accused of these offenses and was punishable under Sections 302 and 201 of IPC and was awarded different punishments including life imprisonment.
In his appeal, the ac. After the investigation, it has been demonstrated that the appellant was neither suffering from any medical illness nor under legal disability of unsound mind. The Supreme Court further rejected the appellant’s demand to provide the benefit of the provisions meant for a person of unsound mind. Thus, the appeal filed by the appellant was dismissed by the Hon’ble Supreme Court.
