The Division Bench of the Gujarat High Court, comprising Justice N. V. Anjaria and Justice Niral R. Mehta in the case of Jahirmiya Rehamumiya Malek & Ors. v. State of Gujarat & Ors. gave last warning to the Respondents Police Officials to present before the Court in the contempt plea as they are accused who allegedly pelted stones at a Gabra event in Gujarat's Kheda District in October last year.
The Learned Assistant Government Pleader prayed for time stating that affidavit-in-reply on behalf of respondents would be filed.
The bench remarked that “The proceedings are the proceedings for contempt of the Court in wake of the allegations that the directions and the law laid down by the Supreme Court in D.K. Basu V/s. State of West Bengal [(1997) 1 SCC 416] have been flouted.”
Therefore, the Court posted the case on 30.01.23 for next hearing.
