Former Union Minister Sharad Yadav passes away, President and PM condole demise

 Former Union Minister and RJD leader Sharad Yadav passed away on Thursday.  His daughter confirmed the news through a social media post. The 75-year-old veteran politician was ailing for sometime and breathed his last at a private hospital in Gurugram.


President Droupadi Murmu expressed sadness at his passing away. In her message, President said Sharad Yadav was a student leader of the seventies who fought for democratic values.

Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar has expressed grief over the demise of veteran Parliamentarian Sharad Yadav. In his message, he said, Sharad Yadav was a popular leader, an astute administrator and set high benchmarks in public life.


Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed condolences over the demise of the veteran leader. He said, he is pained by the passing away of Sharad Yadav. Mr. Modi said, in his long years in public life, he distinguished himself as MP and Minister and he was greatly inspired by Dr. Lohia’s ideals.

Home Minister Amit Shah, and Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge have also expressed sadness at the demise of former Minister Sharad Yadav. In his message, Mr. Shah said Sharad Yadav made valuable contribution to Bihar and Indian politics for decades. He extended his condolences to his family and supporters. In his message, Mr. Kharge said he strengthened the politics of equality while serving as former Union Minister and outstanding Parliamentarian for decades.
