In the recent Supreme court asked to the union of India  whether the reserved category candidates who acquired general category marks in NEET PG 2022 are being considered as reserved category candidates in all india quota seats

A bench consisting of chief justice D Y Chandrachud demanded  additional solicitor general Aishwarya Bhati to file an affidavit in three days.

The bench consisting of justices hima Kohli and jb pardiwala noted the contentions argued by advocate Prashant Bhushan on behalf of petitioners for the case of reserved category candidates in NEET PG 2022. The reserved category candidates who secured higher merit than a general category or as same merit as general category candidate , are still treated as reserved category, conflicting to the reservation norms.

As per the matrix of seats listed by the MCC, a total of 10,954 seats were available under the All India Quota seats.
