HC orders Principal Chief Conservator of Forests to upload Tree Felling orders within 48 hours of being passed

 

The Single Bench of the Delhi High Court in the case of Bhavreen Kandhari vs Shri C. D. Singh & Ors. consisting of Justice Najmi Waziri ordered the Principal Chief Conservator of Forests to upload Tree Felling orders within 48 hours of being passed.

Facts

This plea was filed regarding the permissions for tree felling to be uploaded on the website of the Department of Forests as per an earlier order of 28^th April 2022.

Contentions Made

Petitioner: It was contended that subsequently 92 orders, pertaining to the aforesaid period, had been uploaded. He submitted that such orders should be directed to be uploaded promptly. It was further submitted that orders for felling of trees passed by the Tree Officer (Central Division) as well, some by the present incumbent and some by the predecessor, also need to be impleaded.

 

Order

The Bench ordered the Principal Chief Conservator of Forests to upload Tree Felling orders within 48 hours of being passed. Regarding the contention of impleadment of orders, it allowed the petitioner to obtain instructions and move appropriate application in this regard. This case was listed on 18.11.2022.
