On Thursday, Chhattisgarh Police arrested a 40-year-old lawyer on charges of killing his estranged wife & mother-in-law in Raipur city.
DD Nagar Station House Officer (SHO) Kumar Gaurav Sahu identified him as Saurabh Upadhyay of the New Changorabhata area.
The accused is a lawyer.
He reportedly killed his wife Mansha (36), from whom he had separated but they had not divorced, & her mother Uma Pandey (65), who resided in Vasundhara Nagar in Raipur, after a fight with them.
The lawyer & his estranged wife had a heated argument over the custody of their 4-year-old daughter.
Upadhyay, who has been detained, confessed to killing them.
