Not the first and last person to work for development of Institution: CJI NV Ramana at his Farewell

 

On Friday, at his farewell ceremony, a humbled CJI, NV Ramana remarked that 'he is not the first and the last person to work for development of Institution' after receiving warm wishes from both Bar and Bench of the Supreme Court.

"Several great people have contributed a lot to the judiciary and we need to work together for the success of Indian Judiciary", he added.

The 48th CJI is set to demit his office today. Justice UU Lalit shall succeed him as the 49th Chief Justice of India.

 

After being credited for upholding the majesty of the Court by Sr. Advocate and Ex-SCBA President Dushyant Dave, the outgoing CJI assured that majesty will be protected by both bench and bar in the coming time as well.

The CJI didn't shy away from stating his underachievements as he apologised for not being able to focus on the issue of pendency and listing of matters. 

In future guidance message to the Judiciary, CJI Ramana underlined the need to deploy modern technologies and artificial intelligence for effective functioning of the Supreme Court. 

"I thank all the members of the bar and the bench for their support. I am certainly going to miss you all", the CJI registered his last words.
