The 'Har Ghar Tiranga' campaign to encourage people to bring the Tiranga
home and hoist it to mark the 75th year of India's Independence kicked
off today. The campaign initiated as part of 'Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav,'
to commemorate India's 75th anniversary of independence will run till
August the 15th. In his Mann ki Baat programme last month, Prime
Minister Narendra Modi had appealed to people to strengthen the 'Har
Ghar Tiranga' movement by hoisting or displaying the national flag in
their homes from August the 13th to the 15th.
In Jammu and Kashmir, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha started the Har
Ghar Tiranga campaign by distributing National Flags among the Raj
Bhawan staff in Srinagar today.
On the occasion, the Lt Governor paid tributes to the martyrs and
freedom fighters and said that the national flag has been the symbol of
hopes and dreams of Indian citizens for the last 75 years and continues
to guide and lead us to a glorious future. Manoj Sinha appealed to all
citizens to hoist the tricolour at their homes and celebrate the spirit
of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav with full fervor and patriotism.
"Har Ghar Tiranga" campaign kicked off in Uttarakhand with Chief
Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami hoisting the flag in Champawat. He also
took part in Prabhat Pheri. On the occasion of 75 years of independence,
there is a lot of enthusiasm in the villages, towns and cities of
Uttarakhand regarding the 'Har Ghar Tirang' campaign. Under the
campaign, the tricolor is being hoisted in 20 lakh houses of the state
till the 15th of August. Chief Minister Dhami is encouraging people by
participating in the Tiranga Yatra organized in several districts of the
state.
Meanwhile, Army, ITBP, SSB and police personnel are taking out Tiranga
Yatra and Prabhat Pheri in the state along with school students to make
people aware of the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign. On the other hand, ITBP
jawans and pilgrims along with local people took out the tricolor yatra
in Badrinath Dham. Along with this, the Indo-Tibetan Border Police
personnel also hoisted the tricolor at an altitude of 14,000 feet in
Uttarakhand.
In Ladakh, the Har Ghar Tiranga programme was whole-heartedly
celebrated in Kargil by all sections of society. People in villages and
Kargil town were seen hoisting the national flag at their residential
houses from 7 O'clock in the morning.
CEC LAHDC Kargil Feroz Ahmad Khan hoisted the national flag at the
council secretariat Kargil along with Executive Councilor Mohsin Ali,
Aga Syed Mehdi Fazili, and Mubarak shah along with all staff. CEC urged
the people to celebrate the Har Ghar Tiranga programme by hosting the
national flag in their houses.
Meanwhile, the Mechanical division Kargil celebrated the Har Ghar
Tiranga programme in a unique way. SE Mechanical flagged off a Tiranga
convoy of all the machinery of the Mechanical Division from mechanical
office to the council secretariat.
Taking Prime Minister Narendra Modi's ongoing 'Har Ghar Tiranga'
campaign to a new level to mark the 75th Independence Day of India, over
7500 participants today made the Guinness World Record by creating
‘World's Largest Human Image of a Waving National Flag in the cricket
stadium of sector 16 at Chandigarh.
Punjab Governor and Administrator of UT Chandigarh Banwarilal Purohit
was present as a Chief Guest and Union Minister of State for External
Affairs and Culture Meenakshi Lekhi was Guest of Honour on this
memorable occasion.
The volunteers of NID Foundation of Union Territory 5885 students of
Chandigarh University and other schools and colleges formed the human
image of the National Flag while more than 25000 citizens gathered to
witness the rare moment with a sense of patriotism including Adviser to
the Administrator Dharam Pal, Deputy commissioner Chandigarh Vinay
Pratap Singh, Mayor Sarabjit Kaur, DGP Chandigarh Praveer Ranjan, NID
Chief Patron and Chandigarh University Chancellor S. Satnam Singh
Sandhu, and other top officials of the UT administration were present.
