The hearing on maintainability of the plea filed by 5 women plaintiffs seeking the right to worship at Shringar Gauri and other deities in the Gyanvapi Mosque compound concluded at the Court of District Judge here on Wednesday after the final submissions by the Anjuman Intezamia Masajid and the plaintiffs. During counter-arguments, the lawyers for the plaintiffs submitted that Gyanvapi has never been a mosque; the disputed structure stands over the ruins of a temple.
District Judge Ajay Krishna Vishvesha has fixed Sept 12 as the date to deliver the decision on the maintainability of the case.
