Woman Advocate alleges assault in Court

 

A woman lawyer, who had contested the GHMC polls in 2021 on a BJP ticket, has alleged that she was beaten up in Malkajgiri court complex by a male lawyer on Wednesday. She has lodged a complaint with the Neredmet police.

The male advocate too lodged a complaint claiming the woman advocate began it all by attacking him & he acted in self-defence. Police registered two separate cases.

Neredmet inspector A Narasimha Swamy said Prasanna came across M Srinivas near first floor lift of Malkajgiri court at 11.20am. “Prasanna alleged Srinivas used abusive language & punched her in the face leaving her injured. On her complaint, case was registered,” the inspector said.

Police added Prasanna unsuccessfully contested GHMC polls twice as a BJP candidate from Neredmet. Talking from hospital, she alleged Srinivas is a follower of a ruling party legislator & has been harassing her for supporting BJP. “Based on Srinivas’s complaint, we registered a case against Prasanna too,” Swamy said.
