NIA Special Court, Patna pronounced judgement against JMB terrorist namely Jahidul Islam @ Kausar, a Bangladeshi national, under sections 121A, 122, 123, 471 of IPC, Sec 16, 18, 18B & 20 of UA (P) Act, Sec 4 & 5 of Explosive Substance Act and 14 of the Foreigners Act.
Case RC-04/2018/NIA-DLI was registered on 03.02.2018 pertaining to planting of three IEDs in and around the premises of Bodhgaya temple complex. After investigation, Chargesheet was filed against 03 accused on 27.09.2018 and supplementary Charge-sheet was filed on 28.01.2019 against remaining 06 accused persons.
Earlier, 08 accused persons were convicted and sentenced on 17.12.2021 in which three accused namely Paigambar Sheikh, Ahmad Ali, Nur Alam Momin were awarded life imprisonment; and five accused Adil Sheikh, Dilwar Hossain, Abdul Karim @ Korim, Mustafizur Rahman @ Shaheen @ Tuhin, and Arif Hussain were awarded 10 years Rigorous Imprisonment.
The quantum of punishment against the JMB terrorist Jahidul Islam @ Kausar convicted today would be announced in due course.
