A division bench of Madhya Pradesh High Court has asked the Superintendent of Police (SP), Bhopal, to ensure the presence of a petitioner against whom the Court had imposed a penalty of Rs 25,000 for filing a frivolous petition, which he has not deposited till now. When it came to notice of the Court, it issued a bailable warrant against him, but it could not be served on him.
Now, the bench of Chief Justice R V Malimath & Justice M S Bhatti have issued a bailable warrant of Rs 10,000 against the petitioner against with a direction to SP, Bhopal, to ensure it's served to the petitioner in question. District vice-president, NSUI, Bhopal, Prashant Singh, had filed a Public Interest of Litigation in the HC relating to affairs of a college, which the Court found frivolous & baseless.
While dismissing the plea, the Court also imposed a cost of Rs 25,000 on the petitioner, which he was supposed to deposit with the State Legal Aid Service Authority but he didn't do despite being given several chances.
When the matter came to notice of the court, it issued a bailable warrant against him but it couldn't be served on him. The Court has now issued another bailable warrant against Singh while directing SP, Bhopal, to ensure it's delivered to him & he is presented in the Court.
