The Supreme Court due to an increase in COVID-19 cases and the Omicron variant, has decided to revert to the virtual hearing mode for next two weeks from and onwards of 03.01.2022.
The Supreme Court on 2nd January issued a circular for the same.
The circular reads, "In light of the growing concerns amid sudden upsurge of Covid-19 cases and as a precautionary measure to contain the spread of infection, the Hon’ble the Chief Justice of India has been pleased to direct that the Modified Standard Operating Procedure notified on 07.10.2021 for physical hearing (with Hybrid Option) before the Hon’ble Court will remain suspended for the present, and all hearing before the Hon’ble Court for a period of two weeks from and onwards of 03.01.2022 shall be through virtual mode."
