Justice Madan Lokur gets 3 year extension as Fiji Supreme Court Judge

Justice Madan Lokur has his judgeship period extended by 3-years in the Supreme Court of Fiji.

He is currently serving under the non-resident panel of the country's Top Court.

Fiji President Wiliame Katonivere wrote to the Former Justice of Indian Supreme Court, stating he has been re-appointed judge of the Fiji Supreme Court for three years, with effect from January 21, 2022.

Justice Lokur had been appointed to the Supreme Court of Fiji in May 2019 for three years previously.

He received his appointment letter on the day of his retirement from the Indian Supreme Court. He sworn in for his new service in August 2019.


The Supreme Court of Fiji holds three sessions a year.

Justice Madan Lokur retired as a judge of the Supreme Court on December 31, 2018, after a tenure of more than 6 years.
