India’s economy has been the subject of great concern and debate over the last few years as growth steadily slipped, then collapsed during the COVID lockdown months and is now reassembling in a lopsided and frankly concerning manner. Some parts of the formal economy are charging ahead, many are still haemorrhaging.

And critical units like PSUs, Banks, education and healthcare remain in disarray.

Speaking to Mitali Mukherjee about their recently released book Unshackling India, authors Salman Anees Soz and Ajay Chibber take a somber look at all the different moving parts, where the pain exists and what may help going ahead.
