Bihar: Dalit Man Assaulted, Made to Lick Spit by Panchayat Head Candidate Who Lost Election

New Delhi: A panchayat head candidate from Bihar’s Aurangabad district who lost the election has been arrested after he was allegedly seen assaulting two Dalit men for not voting him, NDTV reported.

According to the report, a video emerged on social media where the candidate, Balwant Singh, was seen verbally abusing the two men and punishing them by making them do sit-ups while holding their ears.

He was seen physically assaulting one of them, holding him by the neck and forcing him to the ground. He also forced him to spit on the ground and lick it.

 NDTV couldn’t independently verify the authenticity of the video.

In the video, as per the report, Balwant can be heard mentioning that he paid the two voters, and they still didn’t vote for him.

However, Balwant has alleged that the two men were creating nuisance after getting drunk, and he was punishing them for it after they got sober, the report said.

Superintendent of Police Kantesh Kumar Mishra told NDTV that the matter is being investigated.
