Plea in Supreme Court seeks directions to all States, UTs to cancel all Class 12 Board Exams 2021

A plea has been filed in the Supreme Court, seeking direction to all states and UT’s for cancelling 12th Board Exams. This is other than the PIL already in the court seeking cancellation of CBSE Class 12 and CISCE ISC Board Examinations 2021.

The plea, also asks the apex court to direct UGC to plan and constitute a committee to conduct an aptitude test for admissions to non-professional courses.

The plea filed in Supreme Court demands," Cancellation of Class 12 examination of state boards like HSC and NIOS etc in physical mode and further direction to either constitute a committee to decide the formula of assistant students, including compartment students and declare the results within the time limit and deadline."

The Petition further asked, " For UGC to constitute A committee to decide a formula of assessment for class 12 students who want to pursue their further studies in nonprofessional courses by conducting an Aptitude Test or some other mode of assistance within a time limit and deadline."

According to  President of India Wide Parents Association, Adv. Anubha Sahai, " 12th board Students from 23 States, 2UTs & 3 countries along with child rights activist, teachers, Doctor student union moved to SC to seek relief for not holding offline exam find a formula for assessment and declare the result and also for a direction to UGC to decide a formula for assessment of students for seeking admission to non-professional courses within a time limit."

 

This plea is filed today, demands all the states and union territories to stop physical conduct of board examination in the state due to covid-19. The supreme court, however, has not yet decided the hearing date for this plea. Previously, a similar petition filed for cancellation of the CBSE board examination on which the Supreme Court has not given any decision yet. \

The supreme court to give the decision on June 3. This plea seeks relief for all the Current 12 board examination aspirants in this covid situation.
