The Gujarat Government has imposed a complete curfew during the weekend from 9 pm today in Ahmedabad city. The night curfew from 9 pm to 6 am will remain in force from Monday onwards until further orders. AIR Ahmedabad correspondent reports that this decision has been taken to curb the rising number of Covid 19 cases in recent days.
The weekend curfew will remain in force from 9 pm today to 6 am on Monday in Ahmedabad city. Essential services like medical stores and milk parlours will remain open during the curfew period. Gujarat State Transport Corporation has announced that their buses will not operate from Ahmedabad city during the curfew hours. City bus services also remained off the road during the curfew. However, the passengers coming or going by air or train will be allowed on presentation of proper documents.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Vijay Rupani has denied the possibility of fresh lock down in the state. He appealed to the people not to panic as the curfew is for precautionary measures. He appealed to the people to follow the compulsory mask rule and avoid crowding.
