Supreme Court launches test version of new E-Filing Portal, Access Here

What are the types of Law in the Indian Legal System?

The Supreme Court of India has launched a test of its new electronic filing (e-filing) portal for the purpose of crowd-testing.

The SC E-Committee Chairperson, Chief Justice DY Chandrachud has been particularly keen to make e-filing mainstream. He has constantly devoted time and resources to push the agenda further and further.

Last year, he emphasized on digitization of court records as part of the endeavors to be sought by the promotion of e-filing in order to reduce carbon footprint. He had also asked the High Courts to ensure that government litigations are filed via e-filing mode.

Even after assuming the office of CJI, he continued with his efforts and this year only in March asked the Debts Recovery Tribunals and Debts Recovery Appellate Tribunals to set up comprehensive E-Sewa Kendras to facilitate e-filing.
