The Supreme Court Collegium in its meeting held on January 25th 2023 has resolved to recall its earlier recommendation of September 28th 2022 to elevate Justice Jaswant Singh, Judge, Orissa High Court as the Chief Justice of the same.
In the new resolution, after re-assessment, he has now been recommended to be elevated as the Chief Justice of Tripura High Court instead.
On September 28th 2022, the Collegium has recommended transfer of Chief Justice of Orissa High Court as the Madras High Court Chief Justice which is still pending for Centre's approval.
Notably, Tripura High Court has been working with only one Judge whose the Acting Chief Justice.
