The Kerala Governor Arif Mohammed Khan had recently asked Nine Vice Chancellors of the Kerala University to resign from their respective posts. He had issued a show-cause notice and now seven Vice Chancellors approached the Kerala High Court against the notice issued by the Governor, with input from ANI.
The Vice Chancellors have claimed that the notice is illegal and hence have approached the Kerala High Court.
As per news agency ANI’s tweet, it read, “7 Vice Chancellors approached Kerala High Court against the show-cause notice issued by Kerala Governor Arif Muhammad Khan. They sought to cancel the notice and contended that it is illegal. Single Bench of Justice Devan Ramachandran will consider this today.”
Seven Vice Chancellors of Universities in Kerala including the Kannur University VC Gopinath Raveendran has approached the High Court again against the show cause notice issued against them by Governor Arif Mohd Khan .The VCs are demanding the cancellation of the show cause notice, in the plea. Earlier, the High court had declared that the VCs can continue in their posts until removed by the Governor after getting their explanations for the show cause notice.
The matter going on between the Kerala University Vice Chancellors and the Kerala Governor will be considered by a single bench of Justice Devan Ramachandran. Any latest update regarding the matter will be added here.
