Welcome to Dr. Ram Manohar Lohiya National Law University, Lucknow

On Friday, the managing committee of the Lucknow Golf Club (LGC) withdrew its writ petition from the Lucknow bench of the Allahabad HC, following which the order of the Court regarding the appointment of a 2 Judge committee to run the affairs of the club stood discharged.

The committee moved an application before the bench of Justice Ramesh Sinha seeking withdrawal of the plea it had moved earlier. The bench dismissed the plea as withdrawn, clarifying that the order of September 28 whereby it had appointed a 2 Judge committee also stood discharged.

The bench dismissed the plea as withdrawn, clarifying that the order of September 28 whereby it had appointed a 2 Judge committee also stood discharged.,

The bench had on Sept 28, 2022 expressed concern on the dispute among the LGC members & had appointed a two member judge committee to look after the affairs of the club till Oct 18. The Court had also passed serious remarks on club president Mukul Singhal that he misused the state machinery on Sept 25, during the annual general meeting (AGM).
In the petition, it was stated that on September 25 the present governing body of the club was illegally disturbed by the general body of the club because there was no such provision in the bylaws of the club.

Singhal's special appeal against the September 28 order was also dismissed as withdrawn because the order on the main petition already stood discharged.
