Breaking] President appoints Justice DY Chandrachud as next Chief Justice of India

 

On Monday, the President of India, Draupadi Mrumu has appointed Justice DY Chandrachud as the next Chief of India w.e.f. November 9th 2022. 

Justice Chandrachud shall be the 50th CJI post retirement of incumbent 49th CJI, UU Lalit who served the office for a short tenure of two months.

The name was recommended last week in a ceremonial meet by CJI UU Lalit after he received Law Minister's letter seeking the name of his successor.
