The Division Bench of the Delhi High Court in the case of Court on Its Own Motion vs State of NCT of Delhi & Anr. consisting of Justice Mukta Gupta and Anish Dayal appointed Mr. Prashanto Chandra Sen, Senior Advocate to appear as Amicus Curie and assist this Court in resolving the issue of identification of deceased victims based on specific characteristics available with the Central Identities Data Repository (UIDAI).

The Reference in this case was received from the learned Presiding Officer, Motor Accidents Claim Tribunal on the above-mentioned issue.
Order
The Bench directed that notice should be issued to Mr. Chetan Sharma, learned Additiuonal Solicitor General as also to the nominated Standing Counsel for UIDAI to file their response in relation to the reference before the next date of hearing. They also directed to send notice to the Member Secretary, Delhi State Legal Service Authority returnable before this Court on the next date of hearing, i.e., 27th September 2022. They also ordered that a copy of paper book of reference was to be supplied to the learned Additional Solicitor General, nominated Standing Counsel for UIDAI, learned Amicus Curie and Secretary, DSLSA.
