The Supreme Court Collegium in its meeting held on 14 th July, 2022 has approved the proposal for elevation of Shri Rajesh Sekhri, Judicial Officer, as Judge in the High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh.
The High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh have sanctioned strength of 17 Judges while working with 15 judges. After the appointment of current recommendation, the vacancy will reduce to one only.
The High Court of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh is the common high court for union territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh. It was established as the High Court of Jammu and Kashmir on 26 March 1928 by the Maharaja of Jammu and Kashmir.
