On Saturday, a 35-year-old man was arrested for impersonating a Judge in central Delhi's Paharganj. The accused was identified as Lovleesh Sharma, a resident of Bakhtawar Pur.
Sharma had done LLB & tried for judiciary exams, but he failed. The accused wanted to create an impression in his neighbourhood that he was a Judge.
DCP (central) Shweta Chauhan said that "He started introducing himself as a chief judicial magistrate (CJM) to throw weight around & on inquiry, he revealed that he had obtained a pistol from one Rakesh, a resident of Bihar".
Police said that around 7.30 pm on Saturday, ASI (Paharganj circle) Jaswant was conducting checks at Rani Jhansi Chambery.
An officer said that "During checking, he stopped a vehicle coming from the wrong side from Rani Jhansi road with a red beacon. The vehicle was being driven by Sharma".
The vehicle was stopped & Sharma was asked to produce his driving licence, on which he began an altercation with traffic staff & introduced himself as CJM Gurugram.
According to an officer, "When he was asked to produce his ID card, he started threatening the staff. The staff of Paharganj police station was informed & they reached the spot".
Police have recovered a car, one pistol with 6 rounds without a valid licence, one fake ID card of CBI public prosecutor and Bar Council of India, a fake shield & medals of CJM & visiting cards.
