The Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate (ACJM) Court in Uttar Pradesh's Prayagraj reserved its verdict in the fake degree case of UP Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya. The court will give its verdict soon.
The station house officer (SHO) of Cantt police station submitted the preliminary inquiry report into the alleged fake degrees of Keshav Prasad Maurya as directed by ACJM Namrata Singh earlier. The inquiry report was sought after a preliminary investigation from SHO Cantt on two points.
The instruction was issued on a petition filed under Section 156(03) of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) which has sought a criminal case against UP Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya, alleging that he used fake educational degrees for contesting five elections.
However, after hearing the arguments of the petitioner's advocate, the ACJM court decided to reserve the decision on Wednesday.
The court had earlier ordered to investigate the Deputy CM's second-year degree of Uttar Madhyama issued by the Hindi Sahitya Sammelan, Prayagraj. An inquiry was also ordered in the case where he has been accused of obtaining a petrol pump showing a fake certificate of high school.
The application in the matter was filed by RTI activist and senior BJP leader Diwakar Tripathi.
