BREAKING] Supreme Court Collegium recommends 3 Advocates and 2 Judicial Officers name as Judges of Gauhati High Court.

  

The Supreme Court Collegium in its meeting held on 1^st September, 2021 has approved the proposal for elevation of the following persons as Judges in the Gauhati High Court:

 ADVOCATES:

 1. Shri Kakheto Sema,

 2. Shri Devashis Baruah, and

3. Shri Arun Dev Choudhury.

JUDICIAL OFFICERS:

 4. Smt. Malasri Nandi, and

5. Smt. Marli Vankung.

At present, the sanctioned Judge strength of the Gauhati High Court is 24 including the Hon'ble Chief Justice and 6 Additional Judges. Every Judge including the Chief Justice is appointed by the President of India by warrant under his hand and seal.
