Madras High Court resumes Physical Hearing from September 1.

  

The Principal seat of Madras High Court has allowed limited physical hearing from September 1, subject to strict observance of COVID-19 safety protocol norms at all time.

The notification issued by the High Court states that “In partial modification of the directions issued in High Court's Notification dated 15.07.2021, Honourable the Chief Justice has issued directions with regard to functioning of the Principal Seat of Madras High Court w.e.f.01.09.2021.”

The Directions issued by the High Court are :

1. It will be open to the parties to be represented in physical form for final hearing matters, subject to strict observance of COVID-19 safety protocol norms at all times. It will also be open to the parties to be represented in virtual mode for the final hearing matters.
2. All Bar Associations premises and Bar Association libraries will be kept open on Saturday, August 28, 2021, from 10.30 a.m to 1.30 p.m., for COVID-19 cleaning and sanitization, and from 3.00 p.m. to 4.30 p.m. for the Advocates to take their belongings and case-records, if any, from the Bar Association premises.
3. Advocates' Clerks and litigants (except for recording evidence) shall not enter the High Court premises, until further orders. However, parties appearing in person and litigants will be permitted entry, if specifically allowed by any Bench.
4.  All other directions issued in the Notification dated 15.07.2021 shall continue until further orders.
5. With regard to Madurai Bench, separate notification will be issued by the Additional Registrar General, Madurai Bench of Madras High Court, Madurai, as per the directions of the Hon'ble Administrative Judge.
