Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan said on Sunday that a stringent law will soon be made in Madhya Pradesh to punish stone pelters and miscreants who damage public or anyone's personal property as well as recover damages from them. Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan said on Sunday that a stringent law will soon be enacted in Madhya Pradesh to punish the stone-pelters and the miscreants who have caused damage to public or personal property. He said, 'For this I have given instructions to the authorities and work has been started on that.' His statement came after the recent stone pelting incident and violence in Ujjain, Indore and Mandsaur districts of western Madhya Pradesh on vehicle rallies of Hindu organizations raising funds for the construction of Ram temple in Ayodhya. According to the report of the Indian Express, 18 people were arrested from Begum Bagh in Ujjain after the recent stone pelting incident, out of which the National Security Act (NSA) has been imposed against 10 people. In Chandan Kheri, Indore, 27 villagers have been arrested and sent to jail, while others are being identified.
The BJP-led Uttar Pradesh government led by Yogi Adityanath has also enacted and implemented a similar law. Adityanath enacted this law when the people opposing the CAA and NRC, during their agitation, caused huge damage to public property. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan said, 'If someone is raising their issue peacefully, then democracy applies. But no one is allowed to harm public property. ' Chauhan told reporters in Bhopal, "Whatever be the stone-pelting stones, they are enemies of society. It can also kill people. This creates an atmosphere of fear and panic, panic and chaos. ' He said, 'Law will rule in Madhya Pradesh. Such criminals are not ordinary criminals. They will not be dropped. There was only a minor action. Now we are bringing legislation to make provision for punishment. Making laws. '
Chauhan said, 'But not just stone pelting. Many times, public property as well as someone's personal properties are damaged by setting fire or sabotage. This is an unforgivable crime. ' He said, 'If someone speaks in a peaceful manner, democracy allows it. But set it on fire, sabotage it and fire it. No one can be allowed to do it. ' While addressing the ministers and senior officials through a video conference, Chief Minister Chauhan said on Saturday, "Strict action against the stone-pellers and the law is necessary. Many times there is also the risk of getting killed in the stone pelting incident. ' According to the report, a senior official said that the law being prepared by the Government of Madhya Pradesh is to be prepared by the Uttar Pradesh Public and Private Property Ordinance to recover damages, with more stringent provisions on the lines of 2020. According to him, the basic idea of the law is to cover all public and private property destroyed through acts of vandalism, whether it is stones or arson, where the accused has to pay for the damages. The official said that there will be a broad definition of the scope of private property in the law of Madhya Pradesh. At present, the stone pelting incident comes under Section 336 of the IPC and the provision of confiscation of property will be added to the law. For the construction of the grand Ram temple in Ayodhya, from January 15 to February 14, 2021, funds are to be collected under the dedication of funds by adding people to Madhya Pradesh. For this, on the call of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Tirtha Kshetra Nyas Nidhi, a public awareness campaign is being carried out by taking Shri Ram Yatra in every village, including Madhya Pradesh. Hindu organizations including the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) say they were pelted with stones during their rallies to raise funds for the Ram temple. The VHP says that under this campaign 1.25 crore families from 50 thousand villages will be made partners. However, in Malwa region (western Madhya Pradesh), Muslims have alleged that their homes and religious places are being targeted during these rallies. Two days ago, a VHP delegation met Chauhan in Indore and demanded a strict law against the stone-pelters. A VHP leader said on Sunday, "Our Malwa province delegation gave a memorandum to Chief Minister Chauhan ji in Indore two days ago and demanded from him to enact a strict law against the stone-pelters." At the same time, Madhya Pradesh Congress Vice President and Advocate Sajid Ali said, 'Law should be made to stop the violence, but it should be implemented impartially. Videography should be done at the beginning of every rally, procession and public function, so that any person or group that initiates the violence is caught on camera and punished. '
