United Nations: thanks to conflict situation in several regions of the planet , quite eight crore people were displaced by the center of this year and therefore the
lives of refugees were further devastated due to the Kovid-19 epidemic.
A UN report outlines this. UNHCR, a United Nations agency working for
the rights of the refugees, estimates that more than 80 million people
have been displaced globally by the middle of this year. A report about
this was released in Geneva on Wednesday. Earlier this year it was said
that 7.95 crore people had to be displaced from their native places due
to repression, conflict situation and human rights violations in
different areas.
It also includes figures of 4.57 crore people
displaced within the region, 2.96 crore refugees and 42 lakh people
forced to asylum in other countries.
The United Nations agency said, "The ongoing and up to date conflict situation and therefore the corona virus epidemic had a really serious impact on people's lives in 2020."
According
to estimates, out of 7.95 crore people who were forced to displace,
there were 3.4 crore children, whose age was below 18 years.
According
to UNHCR, maximum number of people were displaced in Syria (66 lakh),
Venezuela (37 lakh), Afghanistan (27 lakh), South Sudan (23 lakh) and
Myanmar (one million).
The agency said that people were forced to migrate and the Kovid-19 epidemic made their situation worse.
The UNHCR said, "The epidemic severely affected every aspect of human life and also caused a livelihood crisis globally."
Due to strict measures taken for Kovid-19, the refugees also had a lot of difficulty in moving from one place to another safely.
